This sweet family drove all the way from the Waynesboro area this morning for their newborn session. Just a few weeks ago we did Alicen’s maternity pictures, and now baby Claire is here! She’s absolutely gorgeous.

Claire’s daddy brought along a bunch of his fireman gear to the session. We incorporated it a few ways, and I LOVE how these images turned out.

Little Miss Claire slept so well this morning! She didn’t even make a peep!

Thanks again for coming all this way for your newborn session! I had so much fun this morning with you guys!

Augusta, Ga Newborn and Baby Photographer || Bristol, 3 months

I must admit, I was really worried Bristol wasn’t up for pictures today. Usually for 3 month sessions, I do a mixture of pictures with parents, and then a few of the baby by themselves on their tummy looking up at me, or on their back looking up at me. Sometimes I can sit them up inside a basket. I try to capture sweet smiles and features, and their all around very awake cuteness at 3 months old. Bristol didn’t seem too up for any pictures when she first got here. We snapped a few awake pictures between giving her breaks because she just wasn’t feeling it.

Alyssa, her beautiful mama that you see above , decided to give her her bottle a little early to see if that would calm her down.

Then, the miracle happened. hah!

I have never in my almost 4 years of doing this been able to pose a baby this age like a newborn. Bristol is a little over 3 months old, and slept through these setups better than many of my 7 day olds! I think that it was God giving this sweet family something they wanted but were unable to do at the time of Bristol’s birth. Yeah, He’s good like that. Today was the first time I’ve met this family, but the more I learn about them and get to know them, the more they amaze me. What sweet, sweet people!

Happy Valentines Day everyone! I got to snuggle up this little lovey today. It was a fabulous way to spend my Valentines morning!

I’ve been waiting for a sweet little boy for a long time, and am glad I got use some props I’ve been hanging on to for just this occasion.

Today is a big day at my house. Today is my husband’s 30th birthday.

But what happened one year ago today, is cause for even more celebration today.

A year ago today, I got a phone call from our best friends, who live in Atlanta.

A year ago today, I heard my sweet friend sobbing in the background, and her husband saying to me, “Please, come now. They are taking her now.” Anna tried to talk to me, but all she could get out was that she was so scared, and needed me to come, and then the crying took back over.

I dropped everything. Called a friend to come watch the kids, grabbed my gear, some pajamas, a change of clothes and I hopped in the car and flew down I-20 to get to them. Anna went in for her C-section to get sweet Evie out at 31 weeks, due to complications from a tumor that had been growing on her placenta during the pregnancy. The tumor was taking nutrients and blood from little Evie, and her little body was in distress.

I got to the hospital just as Evie was born.

Anna was able to give 4 lb Evie a kiss before they whisked her off to the NICU. Even now, this picture hurts my heart. To see my sweet friend’s eyes red and puffy with tears and fear.
The first 24-48 hours were rough. Evie needed several blood transfusions and had a very hard time producing her own blood, and keeping the fluid off that had built up around her organ systems.
This is one of those times, when I wish I didn’t grow up with parents who were medical. One of those times when, I wished I didn’t know as much as I do.

Lots of prayers were said, lots of tears fell.

Little tiny Evie finally turned the corner.

I stayed until we were sure Evie was out of the woods. Until our sweet friends, Anna and Robert, had peace in their hearts that she would come home with them, eventually.

Several weeks later, Evie Girl came home, and we did her newborn session!

Today, I am praising God for this little girl’s life: For the joy and fun and happiness that will be celebrated at her first birthday party next weekend.
For the way she has grown and how she shows no sign of any issues from being such a preemie, and for the amazing parents Anna and Robert are to their sweet daughters.

Today, I’m praising God for these chubbier than chubby cheeks, and the raspberries those adorable lips above blow all the time.

Happy First Birthday, Evelyn Virginia! Today, we praise God for you, all that you are right now, and all that we know you will become!
Here’s to an easy rest of your life, since the first part was pretty darn scary!

The Fiveash’s were the winners of JVP’s 50th Newborn Giveaway! They, and all the other contestants worked so hard to rally votes, and in the end Ashley and Russell were the winners! Congrats guys! It was so very sweet to watch you both with little Harper this morning! You are amazing parents, and she is a beautiful baby girl! I do hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

Oh my goodness. Look at this sleepy little snail.

10 perfect little toes. I’ve seen babies sooth themselves in several ways. Sweet Harper would put her feet together like this on her own, and then gently rub her toes together, back and forth. It was adorable!

This image is by far my favorite from the morning. Harper had few fussy spells during her newborn session, and her daddy would curl her up in his hands, and comfort her. She’s a tiny little thing, and she felt so safe in daddy’s big hands.

Had a dreamy little summery session in February yesterday! It was 75 and gorgeous. We had fun in the tall beautiful grasses out on a local horse farm.
