Hopefully we can get some of the twins with their new little sister.

Miss Peyton was  a DREAM to work with. She slept soundly for 3 hours.

We had all let it go, since they firmly stood their ground.

Then, about 9 months ago, Erica and Matt came over to return some things and dropped this in my lap…


This is just a snippet of the adorable card Matt made our family.  When I saw it, I’m pretty sure my jaw dropped, and I sat there in silence and then just threw the card at my husband, Scott, who thought I had lost my mind.

Here we are 9 months later.  Baby Sawyer arrived safe and sound on April 23rd.  And then what I had been praying for happened…

Their hearts opened wide at first sight of their beautiful girl.

Their eyes lit up with warmth and love when they first got to hold her.


and their lives will be full and  forever changed by someone so tiny, and such a miracle.

She’s been home and they are doing so well now.  I love watching them love her and love each other.  Even in the hard exhausting  sleepless times, it’s just beautiful to watch people you love move through life so in love with the blessing of one another and a sweet baby.

and while she may have not been a part of their original life plan together, I am so thankful they changed their minds….

The night you went into have Sawyer, I texted you to tell you I was proud of you and was praying for you.  You texted back, “Nothing to be proud of,  I haven’t done anything yet.”

It’s the happiness and love you’ve found.  We’ve all prayed so long and hard for it.  It makes me proud.

Love you Erica and Matt, and that sweet Sawyer girl of yours!  I promise to spoil love her through and through!

The strength it took for his birth mother to offer him a better life than she could have provided is unfathomable to me.  And even more, the open heart of a woman who has longed to be a mother for years finally being fulfilled will never ever get old.  I think mostly what makes my heart so full when hearing these life stories, is that it is such a clear picture of how the Lord adopts us into His open arms, and how we are loved unconditionally no matter who we are or where we came from.


Welcome home, Patton Reed.  You are so loved.
